The Cuba tour:

Vis Cuba 9 days on a larger map

Day 1: Airport - La Havana.
Arrival in the capital of the republic of Cuba, Havana.
Havana is one of the most beautiful colonial towns in all of Latin America, with fantastic architecture and full of vivacity and colors in the streets that are inhabited by one of the most friendly and warm peoples in the world. We will enjoy a welcome drink and hold a brief information meeting.

Day 2: Round trip in Havana.
Walking thru the old city Havana Vieja on foot and then departure from Plaza San Francisco by Coach.
Visit to the Fortress La Cabaña and lunch at Los Doce Apóstolos with a view to the Fortress El Morro. In the afternoon pick up of bikes and ride to the home of the American author and Nobel Prize winner Ernest Hemingway, Finca La Vigia. If time allows, we will go by the port of Cojimar where Hemingway used to go fishing before returning to our Hotel.

Day 3: La Havana – Viñales – La Havana.
Departure for the fantastic natural resort Viñales. We will go for a ride in the very beautiful mountain area Viñales. We will visit the stalactite cave Cueva del Indio and sail on an underground river, visit an enormous painting on a rock wall, Mural de la Prehistoria, and have lunch at a tobacco plantation where we will hear about growing of tobacco and drying of the leaves. In the afternoon back to our Hotel in Havana.

Day 4: La Havana - Cienfuegos.
Our first couple of hours will be on the Cuban “Autopista” . Even thou it is considered as a highway, you will still meet horse wagons, bicyclists and livestock on the road. A boat trip on Laguna del Tesoro at La Boca de Cienaga de Zapata and a visit to the crocodile farm is part of todays program. Lunch at Cueva de los Peces, before heading on to Playa Girón, The Bay of Pigs. We will continue to the old city of Cienfuegos, a town founded by the French, where we will visit the beautiful square Parque Martí with the old theatre Tomás Terrý.

Day 5: Cienfuegos – Trinidad.
Ever dreamt of swimming with Dolphins? Now you got the chance! After departure from Cienfuegos, we will go to see to dolphin show at Rancho Luna, where you for an extra charge can have the unique experience of being close to these amazing creatures. After the show we will go to a private restaurant, a Paladar, for lunch. Following the coast line of the Caribbean See, we enter into Trinidad.  With the bumpy cobblestones and the old town houses it is like travelling several hundred years back in time. We will visit the colonial museum that gives a good impression of the wealth of the town during the colonial period – wealth that was based on sugar and slavery.

Day 6: Trinidad – Topes de Collantes – Trinidad.
The day starts with a ride out to the mountains of Escambray and the view points at La Hanabanilla and Mirador. Back to Trinidad for lunch and you have two options! You can either relax at the hotel or go with our guide to the beautiful beach of Playa Ancon

Day 7: Trinidad – Santa Clara.
Santa Clara, one of the most important town’s during the revolution is our goal for this day. The mausoleum and statue of Ché Guevara will be visited during the day. The revolutionary hero Ché Guevara captured Santa Clara during the Christmas of 1958 and thus dealt the deathblow to the dictatorship of Batista – consequently he was buried in an enormous monument. Via Valle de los Ingenios and Manaca Iznaga, where we will stop for the view and a cup of Guarapa, the juice from the sugar canes, also called Cuban Red Bull, we will head for the main square in the city of Sancti Spiritus. Lunch will be in Santa Clara and for the dinner at our hotel Los Caneyes, we will be accompanied by some of the local “Harlistaes” from Santa Clara.

Day 8: Santa Clara – La Havana.
Our journey is close to its end and we head back to Havana and we will mainly ride the Autopista. We will make a stop at Los Morales for lunch, before heading on for our drop off of bikes and our hotel in Havana. A farewell dinner is planned and for those of you who have booked a night at the famous Cabaret Tropicana, your coach will pick you up at our hotel.

Day 9: Havana – Airport.
Pending on the time of your check in at the Airport, you will have some time to do your last shopping in the old town of Havana. We hope that you have had a wonderful time in Cuba and wish you a safe journey back home.
