Ride a Harley from coast to coast in the USA

The dream tour across the USA on a Harley-Davidson – and you get it all! You will be riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle down Route 66 and visiting the Grand Canyon, Daytona and Key West.

This is the ultimate motorcycle tour!

We will become acquainted with the American way of life, the food culture and not least the spectacular sceneries from coast to coast in the USA.

Our guide has been on more than 20 tours around the USA and has made up this perfect motorcycle tour.

Day 1. Miami.
Arrival to Miami International Airport and transport to our hotel which is close to the Airport.

Day 2. Miami City
MC-Travel arranges a City Tour where we will visit some of the high lights in Miami and suburbs. amongst others we will see Little Havana, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Biltmore Hotel and of course a stroll down Ocean Drive. after lunch we will go to pick up our bikes and join for our welcome dinner.

Day 3. Miami, Florida – Key West, Florida app. 270 km.
To days ride will bring us a cross the 42 bridges to southern most point in America, Key West. Famous for the author Ernest Hemingway and Sloppy Joe’s Bar. Of course there are plenty of other “waterholes” and the Harbour area offer a huge variety of good Restaurants.

Day 4. Key West, Florida – Naples, Florida app. 350km.
crossing back on the 42 bridges, there is only this one road and into Everglades. you will have the opportunity to sail on one of the Air boats in the swamps. Actually, Everglades is not a swamp but a river and you will see a lot of wild life on this trip. Along the road you will see many Alligators resting and taking in the Sun. We head on for Naples and the beaches in the Mexican Golf.

Day 5. Naples, Florida – Crystal River, Florida app. 400km.
Today we will ride some of the back roads in Florida, before going on the costal roads north of Tampa and into Crystal River. The river is famous for its many Manatees, that lives quit close to our Hotel.

Day 6. Crystal River, Florida – Fort Walton Beach, Florida app. 530km.
We keep on riding the Scenic Routes to our next destination. Riding along the Mexican Golf, Thru Panama City and to our beach Hotel. After a long ride we can for sure need a swim in the Golf.

Day 7. Fort Walton Beach, Florida – New Orleans, Louisiana app. 384km.
Today we cross several states, Alabama, Mississippi and into Louisiana. Our hotel is located lust on the corner of “French Quarter” and we will spend two nights in this famous City.

Day 8. New Orleans.
Sightseeing in New Orleans. You can enjoy the French Quarter, go for a steamboat tour on the “Natchez” down the Mighty Mississippi River. in the evening we will go down Bourbon Street to enjoy the cuisine and the music in the many Blues and Jazz bars.

Day 9. New Orleans, Louisiana – Natchitoches, Louisiana app. 450km
Heading on for Baton Rouge and riding along the Mississippi River to Natchitoches. We are in the area known as the “Deep South” with the beautiful farmhouses, cotton fields and the many French inspired towns. The city of Natchitoches was founded in 1714 by a French, Louis Juchereau de St. Denis and the city is named after the local Indian tribe. The old town is very similar to French Quarter in New Orleans.

Day 10. Natchitoches, Louisiana – Decatur, Texas app. 515km
Heading on for the “Lone Star State” Texas. The country site is first fertile farmland but before the day ends we will ride in the prairie of Texas.

Day 11. Decatur, Texas – Amarillo, Texas. app 480km
We will start our day riding towards Wichita Falls and on into the prairie that seams even more deserted for each kilometer we ride. the destination for the day is Amarillo, an old Route 66 town and famous for The Big Texan Steak Ranch, which we of course will visit for our dinner tonight. The 72 ounce steak is yours for free if you can eat it, in less than one hour. The record is 8 minutes and 52 seconds!!

Dag 12: Amarillo, Texas – Santa Fe, New Mexico ca. 450km.
First visit of the day is “Cadillac Ranch” A art work of 10 half buried Cadillac’s ranging from 49 to 64. We are now on the famous Route 66 and will make stops in many of the scenic towns. One of the towns are Adrian, known for “The Midway Café” which should be right between Chicago and Los Angeles on Route 66. Next stop will be in Tucumcari, New Mexico, famous for its many old Route 66 motels. From Tucumcari we set of for Montoya, Newkirk and Cuervo to Santa Rosa. From Santa Rosa well will follow the old Route 66 to Santa Fe.

Day 13. Santa Fe.
A day of rest in Santa Fe. You can enjoy the City Center of Santa Fe and houses and constructions are very influenced by the Indians and the Spanish. Santa Fe is also the Capital City of New Mexico. Our guide will take you on a tour into the Mountains surrounding Santa Fe. Los Alamos will be one of the stops for the day.

Day 14. Santa Fe, New Mexico – Holbrook, Arizona app 470km.
We continue into the state of Arizona, following the Route 66. Ahead of us are perhaps some of the best highlights. We ride into Painted Desert with the amazing colored mountains and on to Petrified Forest which dates back 225 million years. The area is scattered with petrified timber. Do not collect any items, we are in a National Park. Our destination Holbrook is also an old Route 66 town, famous for the Wigwam Motel.

Day 15. Holbrook, Arizona – Grand Canyon, Arizona app. 460km.
First stop on the day will be Winslow. Who do not remember the lyrics from Jackson Browne’s song; take it easy “ Standing on a corner in Winslow”. Well, you can stand on this corner, while memorizing the song. After this we go for yet another Route 66 town Flagstaff and our lunch. One of the highlights today is Grand Canyon and well will follow the rim of the canyon going to our hotel that is located in the City nearby the Canyon.

Day 16. Grand Canyon, Arizona – Las Vegas, Nevada app. 460km.
The road to glamour and Gold, Las Vegas. Before going into town we go by Hackberry General Store, perhaps the most famous Route 66 stop. On to Hoover Dam this amazing landmark that amongst other supplies Las Vegas with power for their huge demand of electricity. Our hotel is located in the old town right on Fremont Street.

Day 17. Las Vegas.
We recommend you to experience The Strip in daylight but anyway, MC-Travel will arrange a unique transportation to The Harley-Davidson Cafe for dinner.

Day 18. Las Vegas Nevada – Needles, California app 260km.
We are back on Route 66! This day we will ride some of the old tarmac of Route 66 into Kingman and heading for Oatman where donkeys roams the streets. We leave for a short while Route 66 to go to Laughlin that lies down to Colorado River and riding on for Needles and our hotel.

Day 19. Needles, California – Los Angeles, California app 420km.
We follow the old Route 66 into the Mojave Desert. We pass the cities of Essex, Amboy, Ludlow, Bagdad and Barstow, all famous Route 66 towns. After drop off of our bikes in Los Angeles, we go for our hotel.

Day 20. Los Angeles.
Los Angeles City Tour. There are so much to see in L.A. You can either make your own plan for the day or follow our guide on a round trip to Beverley Hills, Rodeo Drive and Hollywood.

Day 21. Los Angeles.
